Garden Partners' programs are designed to create a quality experience for each participant. Activities can enhance cognitive functioning, increase physical mobility, enrich sensory experiences, or impact social interactions. Activities are planned to maximize participants' sense of well-being.
Facility-Based Programs. Program activities are held in residential
facilities and are coordinated with facility staff to fit the needs of
each facility's specific population (long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted
living, independent living, limited mobility, speech, sight or hearing
concerns, memory care, brain injury, etc.). Activities are held indoors
and outdoors and might include planting, caring for and harvesting flowers,
herbs and vegetables.
Community-Based Programs. Program activities in community settings might be held at a garden center, a community garden, a community center, a senior center, a retirement community, a public park, or a specific location where a portion of the site is designated for gardening activities. Although Garden Partners activities are pre-planned and developed to enhance accessibility, any community member, of any age and ability is considered a potential participant.
